Graduate school question!?
My husband is planning to go back to graduate school and try to get a MA in Sociology to be a professor. He wants to teach at community college. He has been working for a huge corporation for almost 2 years. Now, he wants to be a professor. However, a person I know who has a MA in communication studies says very negative things about getting a MA and be a professor. She said those people do not make that much money, and I will be poor and suffer as a wife. Well, he will not go to grad school until Fall and by then we will have no credit card loans and car loan. We do not even have a house. Is it worth for him to go back to school and get a MA?
By the way, we have no child and do no plan to have one forever.
Also, we are saving a lot of money per month until he goes back to school.
i think he’ll make decent money if he can find a job. i was going to get my phd in sociology to teach, but the more i started researching it, it seemed like it could be difficult to get a job and you kinda have to apply all over the place and go where the jobs are and i really want to stay in CA, so i’ve decided to go to law school cause it’s a more flexible degree.
