Are there any banks still doing personal loans?
I’m about to be a senior in college, and due to financial struggles I have been unable to get a car up until now. I realized that I have decent credit, so I thought that I could get a car loan or personal loan through my bank Wachovia (now Wells Fargo).
However, when I spoke to the financial specialist at Wachovia, I discovered that they are no longer doing personal loans, and that car loans are only for cars that are approximate five years old or less. I don’t want or need a new car. I was looking for something in the $4,000 range, but I plan on making payments as soon as the loan is active.
Does anyone know of a bank that is still doing personal loans or that will give me a car loan for a used car? I am also completely open to any other solutions, but please don’t say you’re better off trying to save up because it’s not possible right now.
Thanks
You are right.
No bank is doing personal loans.
If you ask for one, they will offer you a credit card application.
Sometimes they will approve you right on the spot, if you have great credit.
If approved, you can ask for a cash advance.
But… that is with good credit.
Try other banks – especially your credit union.
I bet you they will finance that car for you.
Make sure you are not getting taken by paying $4K for an old car. Please do your homework on that….
