I am a 17 year old student how can I get a student loan without a cosigner?

Well, My parents aren’t paying for my higher education, and I am applying for scholarships and but I need a way to pay for colleges just in case.

A Stafford loan is the only kind of loan you can get since you are under 18. I can’t speak for every state, but in Colorado you cannot enter into a legal contract until you are 18.

Even at 18, you’d need a co-signer. You may have to take fewer classes until you can get those loans in your own name.
