I’m looking for any type of special grants/financial aid available to felons looking for further education

I’m looking to go to school in Colorado, via internet, for some kind of degree in computers

I’ve never come across any grants specifically for felons. However, as long as you didn’t committ your crime *while* receiving Federal Student Aid (FSA), you should be eligible to obtain some types of FSA (depending on which school you attend).

Not all internet-based schools offer financial aid. So, if you haven’t picked a school yet, you might want to specifically look for one that *does* (usually if they offer FA, they are more than forthcoming with this information).

If you are currently incarcerated, you won’t be allowed to borrow any loans, but you could be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. If you are deemed eligible, a Pell Grant will usually cover UP TO $4,050 of your education. Beyond that, you will need to seek out private scholarships. Try searching FastWeb, Scholarships[dot]com or other internet search engines.
