Does the TEACH Grant pay for your full tuition or just give you up to $4,000 towards tuition?
I keep reading different things about this grant program but I don’t get any answers. I’m going to community college for a year for education but after that I’m transfering to a university.the teach grant progam reads that they provide up to 4000 for schooling. If that is the case then what is the point in giving up 4 years of my career after college to do all the perequisites that come with the grant if all my schooling isn’t paid for?I need information on this and fafsa isn’t helping and my counselors are swamped with other stuff and can’t get to my questions.I need to pay for school.any aswers will help.thank you.
I believe, if I read the information correctly, it will allow up to $4,000 per year for schooling. I too am going back to become a teacher and have looked into the grant. I’m also attending community college for at least the first year and then possibly transferring to a 4 year college that offers the teach grant. I’m trying to determine if I will get enough additional aid for my 2nd year of schooling to make it worthwhile to switch to a 4 year school for my 2nd year or wait until my junior year. I’m going to fill out financial aid next year and talk with a financial aid advisor at both schools before determining for sure which school I will attend for 2010/2011.
Good luck with your schooling.
