I am a single mom with bad credit and wanting to go to college…how can I do this if I can not get a loan? I am 29 had a rough life, been to hell and back again. I am trying to do something with my life and for my daughters sake. How can I get an education if I can not get a loan? I live in Ontario, Canada by the way.
Because you are a single mom, you are eligible for tons of programs. Like Medicaid, food stamps, help paying for day care, grants (free money for college), money for utilities, rent.
If I was you I’d start with the the financial aide dept at the college you want to go to. Because medicaid requires you to go to this program daily to look for a job, I believe if you are in college you are exempt from that. But double check.
I’d go for every free dime I could get. And I’m sure Canada is no different. So start with the financial aide department and then the welfare dept.
Remember!!!!! don’t be embarrassed for going on welfare. In a couple of years you’ll be off it and paying back into the system.
