When is it too late to get a serious education?
Imagine a person who, for one reason or another, did not get much education after high school, except learning a little bit about computers (on level with Office/DTP etc), and worked a few not very much paying jobs for a while.
Fast forward to age 34, and that person lives with a partner. The partner wants this person to do something serious with his/her life, which translates to getting some education for the start.
No children anywhere in the story, at least for the time being.
The partner provides place to live, food to eat, and all the necessities of life, computers, internet, sufficient money. Also, the partner offers to pay full tuition, so there would be no need for a student loan, nor would there be any debt afterward.
Under these conditions, would you say that age 34 is too late in life to start a college/university, or would you say that it’s still early enough?
And at what age can we say that it is too late, if at any?
It’s never too late. I’m 37 and almost have my bachelors. My aunt got hers in her 50’s. I know a lot of other people that have gotten degrees later in life.
