How does tuition reimbursement work?
I know that it depends on many different things but my main question is: I have not had to take out any loans yet for my college education and I am in the spring semester of my junior year and I am a nursing student, and now I am learning about tuition reimbursement. Do you have to take out loans in order to get your school paid for or do some companies cut you a check if you can prove that you paid for your education?? I am planning on living in missouri after I graduate which is a different state than where I am going to school.
Tuition Reimbursement is not available to everyone, or something you can apply for.
It just means after you pay for school, someone will pay you however much you paid (or less).
One way to get it is if you have a job and they offer it as a benefit, but you would have to talk to your company first.
Another way is if you apply for your FAFSA too late, and you pay for school but later on the FAFSA gives you money, the school will refund however much the FAFSA approved for you.
There is also an unemployment tuition waver, contact your school for details. I believe you had to work full time for two years and get laid off, than collect unemployment. I could be wrong. At least this is how it works in NJ.
