Can a foreign student get loans from US universities?

Is it possible for a non-native student to get loans in the US for college education? Or is it possible support one’s college education by part time jobs? What about banks and funds? Is it possible to borrow money from them?

Some colleges and universities in the U.S. do offer financial aid for international students. This aid varies and may include grants (scholarships), work study (on campus employment to help pay for your costs), and, in a few cases, loans. If you go to my blog, and do a search for “international students” you will find an article I recently wrote on which schools in the U.S. offer the most financial aid to international students. Of course, you will need to have the qualifications for admission, so if you are interested in studying in the U.S. you will need to have earned good grades in high school, have taken the SAT exam, and also take the TOEFL exam if English is not your first language. You will also need to submit recommendations from your teachers with your application. Even though not all schools offer financial aid for international students, there are enough that international students have plenty of choices. Depending on what you plan to study, you may choose a small college that focuses strictly on undergraduate education or a university. Again, a good place to start is with that article on my blog (link below). Good luck!
