PRIVATE Student Loans other than Sallie Mae?
Hi, my brother is going to college and he applied for a private loan through Sallie Mae. Being his first year he needed a cosigner and one we used (the only one we have) he got denied despite the fact that his credit is in good standing.
What other banks out there can my brother and his cosigner go to for a student loan?
YES, my brother does have his financial aid package, Staffard loan, Pell Grant ect but it does not cover the cost of his tuition. And PLUS loan is NOT an option.
So any other banks besides Sallie Mae for private student loans?

He can try Wells Fargo or maybe Chase, but chances are if Sallie Mae didn’t like his cosigner the others won’t either. If they don’t approve him, he should find a cheaper school. One can attend many many many schools for well under the max amounts for stafford loans and pell grants.
