favoritism at work public school education?

I am so upset because I was overlooked as a very deserving recipient of a bonus where I work as a teacher. We have a special federal incentive fund that pays teachers who go beyond the call of duty. I have a computer lab in my classroom which I built on my own. I use Google Docs and have students do amazing projects, yet I was passed up because the teacher who was selected to coordinate the grant chose his friends over those who truly deserved it. I talked to the principal about it and he pleaded ignorance and that he couldn’t change it because the money was already paid.
I’m so livid! I’m not the type of person to file a grievance, and I’ve been working 20 years with a clean record. Yet, I so want to get these corrupt teachers who do so little and could care less about the students.
My blood pressure is boiling as I write this.

I am sorry you have this problem but this is quite comone in every area of employment that I know of. Yes, it sucks.
