as long as I make payments on my student loan, can I avoid a garnishment of wages? What are my options?
I have 29,000 in student loans. The bank says they want me to pay 517 per month. they said they will garnish my wages or take my statement federal income tax. I can only give 150 per month. What are my options? Do I do what they want, or are they trying to scare me into paying more money? if I make 150 payments in dollars per month, can they still garnish my wages?
If you do not make payments min, possibly the loan in default and yes they garnish your wages and the size of your tax return. No, they do not try to scare you, it's a fact. Yes, you have to do what they want. When you signed your loan documents that you have agreed to make payments on them FULL. If you buy a house or a car and make a dollar 10 per monthly payment, they will eventually house or car! Student loans are no different, just think of garnishment of wages occurs instead of recovery. Since they can not repossess your brain .. lol
