why is the uk’s education system so biased against working people?

for nearly 5 years i have tried to find courses in numerous areas of study, both for personal enjoyment and career development. Colleges, education centres, universities and other such places seem to bend over backwards in accomopdating the jobless, but if you work you are either charged sky-high fees, or none of the courses run on days you have free. Much adult education used to run at evenings and weekends, now weekday afternoons are preferred. There are never concessions for working people, and whenever I have attended interviews, open days and such, as soon as you state your position, staff seem disinterested and hurry through; yet every effort is made for young offenders, those with criminal backgrounds, asylum seekers and immigrants and those not working.

What I want to know is, do education authorities recieve higher grants for taking on the unemployed, so the unemployment figs are kept down?

You are absolutely right in your observations . The reason of -course is Politics. Politicians only want to spend our money the way they feel would serve their own interests first and last.
