College loan for new resident?
I was just granted a green card this spring.
As a new LPR can I benefit from financial aid yet?
I have no establish credit in this country and would like to know (if fin aid doesn’t work) can I get a private loan?
I am 28 and no longer depending on my parents.
I’m interested in a state college that costs about $2,000 /in-state and about 5 times that out-of -state.
Please offer suggestions!
Don’t get a private student loan. Apply for federal financial aid at http://fafsa.ed.gov You must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen (with an Alien Registration number) to be eligible.
