Can you have a nutritious diet on $100 a month?

I only have $100 a month to spend on food and I have been doing a poor job so far. I make $21,000 a year so I can not get food stamps but after I buy my medication, pay student loans, old credit card debt (I was a stupid 21 year old) and all my other bills I only have $100 left for food. I have not been eating well as evidenced by my general health. I eat beans and rice and whatever canned veg is on sale. Does anyone have any tips of eating right on such a tight budget? What is your monthly food budget?

Healthy diet. Not loose weight diet but just healthy eating. Fast food is not healthy!

These websites have great tips and ideas on how to eat healthy on a budget. Organic and high-end meats cost a fortune, but sticking to these tips will help alot. I give these tips to my patients every day. Things like planning ahead, skipping junkfoods and fastfood places really help. Good luck!

P.S.: From when I moved out until I was about 36, my budget was the same as yours, if not less. I wasn’t good with keeping money… I blew it all on clothes when I was in my 20’s.
