How can people with bankruptcy on their parents records get loans for school? Scholarships will only cover so?
much?
so, young people can get loans in just their name? I was led to believe young people without a credit history need a cosigner?
You have an excellent question. Unfortunately, the “system” doesn’t account for your situation. If you’re under 25 years old, you have no choice but to use your parents income. And, if their income is high enough, they’ll be required to file for the loans before any other student loans will be allocated. Go ahead and have your parents apply. When they get declined, then the other programs should still kick in. If not…. then you’ll need to wait until you are 25, find grants, talk to relatives about financing it for you, or join the military.
