Do you have to pay back student loans on breaks?!?

Sallie Mae is claiming that I should be paying them every single time I am on a break from school, spring, winter, summer, whatever. I graduated and transferred right away since I only received an Associates from the first school. My new school is submitting the student information tomorrow to the National Student Clearinghouse. After that I should be in the clear, correct?
I haven’t had to pay them the past two years that I’ve been in school, they only just started bugging me because they hadn’t gotten the notice that I was continuing my education.
These loans are from a few years ago, I took some time off and then went back, completely changing my major.
I was full-time the past 2 years and I will continue to be full-time this fall.
I also probably should clarify, I just graduated this past spring and am going to school this fall.

No, you don’t have to pay them back during breaks, unless you aren’t a full time student, in which case you might be paying them back year-round. You should talk to a Sallie Mae representative to clear this up so they can leave you alone, and you can be sure they received notice that you’re a full time student again.

It’s unclear how long you took of school, but if it was more than 6 months then you should have started paying.
