Student Loan went to Collection Agency??? WHAT TO DO?
My dad was making my student loan payments until he went on a business trip in Asia for 8 months. During this time he forgot to mention to me to pay the loans during his absence. Now that he’s back and realized that the loan has been turned over to a collection agency, he is not only furious with me, but with himself. I immediately made a $200 payment (normal payment $40) on the federal loan’s website.
I have tried contacting the collection agency, but can’t reach anyone. Would I be able to continue to pay on the federal website without contacting collection agency? Or would they not accept my payments online? Thanks for your help! this really sucks….
Your best bet is to call the agencie of whom you got the loan from. You should always be able to pay to he original loan grantor.
