Where can I find information about the new student loan forgiveness?

My fiance and I are buying a house but She has a ton of student debt (about $ 118k) which becomes our way. It does almost nothing as a social worker, and I read that the new program gives forgiveness for teachers, workers in the public service, and perhaps social workers. Do you know where I could find More specific information about this? All that would be helpful. Thank you!

Ministry of Education has very specific rules for their student loan forgiveness policies for those working in the public service. Page 47 of this book describes the details of the loans have forgiven. Note: these are federal loans only. If she has private student loans (or loans it consolidated after graduation, it may not not be eligible.) http://studentaid.ed.gov/students/attach … (Page 47) What is a job in public service? Eligible public service jobs were full time in the following areas: • Emergency management • Government • Military service • Public Safety • • Enforcement of Public Health • Public education (including early childhood education) • Social work in child or family service agency • Public • Public child care service for the disabled public interest services • public law (including prosecution or public defense or legal advocacy in low income communities at a nonprofit organization) • public service to the public • Sciences Library elderly School Library • Science-based and other services • Some schools exempt from tax organizations • Faculty teaching high-needs areas, as determined by faculty full-time • Member-Secretary in a college or university Tribal Note: The borrower pays only or mainly in Under a standard repayment plan of 10 years or under another plan of repayment amounts consistent with a return of 10-year standard is unlikely to have a loan balance for forgiveness after 120 payments on the loan. (That's why we never really qualifies, we adopted the law, but if the person actually paying on it for 10 years, they pay the loan off !!!!) Stupid, worthless benefits that looks good on paper, but never used unless someone takes a job working at minimum wage after graduation. How do I qualify for this exemption? To be eligible remnants of a cancellation, you should not be in default on loans eligible and have paid 120 monthly payments on eligible loans (s) starting after 1 October 2007. Earlier payments are not taken into account to satisfy this requirement. Payments must be made in one any or a combination of the Direct Loan Program repayment plans following. • Standard Repayment Plan one year the repayment period-10. • Reimbursement proportional to income (ICR) Plan-not available to parent Direct PLUS borrowers. • Income-Based Repayment (IBR) Plan-not available to the parent PLUS borrowers directly. • Other payment plans direct loan, but only payments that are at least equal to the amount that would be required under the 10-year Standard Repayment Plan may be counted toward the 120 required payments.
