student loan forgiveness for human service workers?
in massachusetts, looking for any information on student loan forgiveness (or any kind of help at all) for master’s level mental health therapist. i work with disadvantaged at risk youth and i am unable to pay my loans. i know there are programs if you are a teacher, or if you work for the government, but what about help for therapists or other mental health/human service workers?
It is really sad that mental health therapists/ and human service workers work with those that are considered to be the “ills” in society and are not app[reciated for the work that they do. I believe that if you join the military, the peace corps or VISTA, there is a way to have some of your loans forgiven.
If you havent’s done so already, consolidate your loans. Also work with the people that gave you the loan and work out a smaller payment.
