anyone have experience with getting help with paying off student loans?

I have a $120,000 student loan from around ten years ago that I have kept in deferment. Yes, $120,000. I am fully willing to pay it off, but it’s like an all or none thing. They won’t even set up a payment plan that allows me to pay what I can. less than full payment, the loan considered in default. Part is subsidized and part unsubsidized. Interest keeps accruing. It started out at $100,000. Nightmare. I do not qualify, that I can find, for loan forgiveness or reduction programs. The interest is around 8%. So it kind of doesn’t make sense to take out a loan to pay this one off, except that it would end the interest accrual nightmare. I used the money for degrees in psychology, but work as a registered nurse. The payments are around $800 plus a month. I simply can’t make the ‘full’ payment. So I’ve been moving the loan from one company to the next to maintain it in deferment. This has been a vicious nightmare

Wow. That is a nightmare.

Is it possible to get a higher paying job? You’re never going to pay it off if you can’t even make the minimum payments. It would take more than a lifetime with the interest.
