Canadians Marriage and Baby abroad?
I am a Canadian, who still owes the government student loans. I have been living in Taiwan for close to 4 years now. I just finished my masters in Taiwan and am working in Taiwan for only few month. Recently I just got married with a Taiwanese and just found out that she’s pregnant ( baby < 1 month old). Do I have any benefits from Canada? Should I register my marriage in Canada and how about my baby that is due in the end of the year? Should I let my wife have her baby in Canada? Does BCSL or NSL have interest relief program or loan reduction program if I have a baby and am married? I am a music major. To make money out of a music degree isn't very sound. I thank the gov't for helping me out on my degree, but now I have a lot of financial weight.
The Canadian government will not give you anything as long as you owe them money. My advice is to set up a repayment plan to them!
