Time limits on student loan interest deductions?
I have a large student loan. My interest rate is great, but I was wondering if there is a limit to the number of years, I can deduct interest on my student loans (up maximum of $ 2,500).
No, there is no deadline as long as you pay on student loans and receive a 1098 from of the lender, you can claim interest. This does not mean that Congress could change the tax laws regarding this, but it is not expected to cut the time of publication 970 http://www.irs.gov/publications/p970/index.html
