I have a student loan with Education Finance Partners. They’re bankrupt, and have disappeared. Who do I owe?
This company was under investigation for providing kickbacks and they’ve completely disappeared after going bankrupt and liquidating their assets. Who owns my debt now? How would I find this out?

Your loan was likey sold by EFP before you even entered repayment. Your loan servicer (company that accepts and processes your payments) should still be in regular contact with you, and the servicer will know who holds title to your loan. Also, your college’s financial aid office should have a database containing the name of your loan’s servicer and owner.
