other than banning meatloaf, what have they changed? Anything they said they would? Most ethical, open and honest Congress in history? 5 day workweeks for Congress? Bring home the troops? Reform intelligence oversight? Break the link between lobbyists and legislation? Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001? “Pay as you go,” not increasing the deficit, whether the issue is middle class tax relief, health care or some other priority? Cut the interest rate on student loans in half? Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds? Anything?
Have you forgotten they have a bare majority? That means the president can override anything he doesn’t like and neither house has the votes to override a veto. So, they compromise.
