How to deal with Montana Failure to appear for MIP charges while I live in CA?
I received three charges for alcohol possession and marijuana. I reveived them while attending UM and had to drop out because of lack of no student loans and went back to califoenia so i missed the court hearings for my trial and honestly have no idea what to do. And I’m not going back anytime soon. Anyone got any suggestions>
I assume these are misdemeanor charges.
Since you missed the court hearing, there are arrest warrants out for you for the original charges as well as a Failure to Appear charge. If you show your face in Montana, you will be arrested.
If you are truly interested in taking care of the charges, contact the prosecutor and ask if you can just pay the fine. He may insist you return to Montana for trial but unless they want to start an extradition proceeding, they are not coming to get you over a misdemeanor.
