WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO I am in the process of consolidating my daughter’s student loan that was placed on my

name instead of hers. I am not sure ,if it will best to go for the first two years paying interest and after the two years for 20 years or more I will be paying the loan to pay off will this be the best route? I am new to this matter.

Are you sure you didn’t take out a parent PLUS loan?
These loans are in the parents name, not the students name. Is it a private student loan with you as a cosigner?

Federal Stafford Loans are in the students name and NOT yours. If your daughters loan is a Stafford and your name is listed you need to contact your daughters school IMMEDIATELY and get this resolved. Unless you are a cosigner on a private student loan of your daughters, DONT pay on a student loan that is not yours.

If you are having problems with the school contact this agency. They are an advocacy agency set up to assist people like yourself who have errors / problems with student loans.

DO NOT consolidate if it is not your loan to repay.
