I don’t have very good credit, but need a BIG student loan. What should I do?
I will be studying abroad this fall in Victoria, BC, Canada. I have two more years left on the degree I’m working on and need to show proof of $70,000 Canadian for the next two years, in order to get my student visa. I will have a little over $4,000 saved of my own money by the time I arrive in June. Are there any places where I can get this kind of student loan with mediocre credit? Maybe at a higher interest rate than normal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t have BAD credit. The only bad mark on my credit was from my name being on a lease from an apartment that I moved out of after 4 months because of irresponsible roommates that wouldn’t pay their share of rent, which led to us being evicted. Also, I have 2 credit cards (but the balance combined is less than a thousand dollars).
