Student loan repayments? (UK) Are they capped?
I feel really certain that when I was taking out my student loan in 2001 I was told the repayments would always be capped at £75 per month.
Now I am told it will be 9% of any income I earn over 15,000.
If there has been a change to the rules, does it still apply to me? Or was there never a cap to begin with, am I remembering wrong?
I already pay £75 as it is but also going to be getting quarterly bonuses in my new job, which means some months the loan repayment could be like £300 if it’s 9%!!!!
hi there, i cant remember much about this either but i am earning 16,000 now and I barely even notice the repayment coming off, infact I think its somewhere around the region of £15 per month. sorry thats not really that much help but a little bit of an indication of what you may have to pay back!
