What happens to my student loan repayments if I go abroad?
does anyone know what happens with student loan repayments (currently coming out of my monthy wages) if I were to go away on a working holiday for a year or move to another country permanently?
If you go permantly they can’t trace you as you will be given different details as they contact and stay in touch with you through you british national insurance number. But be carefull remember when you applied for the student loan you signed the forms which asked you to declare if you were moving abroad, this acts as a binding contract so if you want to do it legally phone student loans up and inform them where your moving and establish a different method to repay the loan.
