Question about student loan from Govt?
When I was in school years ago I was pressured into taking out a loan in my name. I never finished school. so then letters started showing up about paying the bill.
If I’m a current student will they continue press me about repayment? basically if I register back into school, and become a full time student will that stave them
off me for a while?
about paying back the loan?
It depends on what the status of the old loan is. If you are in good standing, and your payments are up to date, you can ask for a forbearance. This means as long as you are enrolled in school at least half time you don’t have to pay on it… or pay interest only on it. If your loan is in default, then no, the hounding won’t stop. Also be aware if you are in default on your previous loan you can’t get financial aid to help pay for your college now.
