Student Loans – employer overpaid deductions?
My employer has overpaid my Student Loan repayments due to the fact they overpaid my salary for past 7 months. As a result I’ve paid back approx £150 more than I should have. SLC guidance only states refunds can be made if you have paid back amount in full and it is consequently an overpayment of your total loan amount. Can I get this refunded?
In short, no you won’t get it refunded I’m afraid – their argument is that you still actually owe the money.
Sucks doesn’t it.
