kleppner’s “Advertising Procedure” 16th edition?

Where can i find good chapter summaries online? I want to do the readings for class, but i’m broke! so i can’t afford the books right now(I do plan on buying them as soon as the rest of my loan money comes in a swear, but WHY do they have to be sooooo expensive! i’m a student! OBVIOUSLY i don’t have any money!!!)

-kleppner’s “Advertising Procedure” 16th edition
-Mueller- “dynamics of international advertising…”
-Tellis- “effective advertising:understanding when how and why…”

If these are current textbooks, they will be under copyright protection. You are not likely to find the information you want online for free.

One of the reason why text books are so expensive is that they have small press runs. It costs the publisher the same amount of money to set up the printing press for 1000 copies of a book as it does for 100,000 copies of the same book. If the cost of the print run is spread out over 100,000 copies, then you pay much less. Textbooks, though, generally don’t sell many copies.

You might check amazon.com to see if you can buy a used copy or a new copy at a discounted rate.

Also, ask your professor if he or she would place a copy of the text on reserve in the library. Then you could check the book out for a couple of hours at a time and read the chapters you need.

Last but not least, new editions of a text book often have only minor changes to the text. Ask your professor if the 15th edition of the book is significantly different from the 16th – you can get the 15th edition used for much less money. If there are few changes, your professor could put the sections that have changed on reserve in the library for the class.
