can someone please help me. i have very bad credit because i never paid my student loan and had many ?
collection agencies after me for a long time but all of a sudden they stopped a couple of years ago and i haven’t heard anything or received a letter from anyone. this loan is over 11 years old and i got it in VANCOUVER, BC but I’m now living in TORONTO, ONTARIO for the past 5 years. I would now like to fix my credit but don’t know how much i owe or who to pay to. i remember there was a provincial and a federal loan. please please help me find out. also do you think i can ever fix my credit, due to this huge mistake??
The reason they probably stopped calling was because you moved out-of-province and don’t have the same number and address. But it doesn’t really matter because you’re debt / credit is always attached to your credit report. If you want to learn how bad you credit is and how you can begin to pay it back, order your credit report at Trans Union Canada Credit Report or Equifax Credit Reports. Figure out who you owe money to and contact them to set up a payment. **Tip – Because your loans are probably so far in arrears, you will more than likely have to deal with collection agencies. So when you contact them, negotiate your principal balance for a lower amount. Once you have settled with the agency, it will help your credit score. Good luck!
