College student renting an apartment?
I am temporarily moving off to Orlando (a college town area) to finish the last 2 semesters of my degree. I’ll probably be out there May – December (7-1/2 months). I’ve been a full-time student so I haven’t worked in a year, and I’ll be living off a student loan. I’ve been a co-signer on 3 different apartment leases… I should have a rental history because of that. I won’t have a co-signer at all.
Should I have a hard time renting an apartment? Should I consider a college oriented apartment?
if you have good rental history from the three times you co-signed (nobody left owing money did they or get legal notices?), proof of the money you are living off of (remember 3x the rent in monthly income), and good credit is the key to a quick approval!
a college oriented apartment would certainly help if you had any issues to overcome or to enjoy the college experience.
