If I can’t get a credit card or a loan, how can I build up my credit?
I took out a credit card, and had a it went into default. I have paid it off, and paid off my student loan, but now I can’t even get a secured credit card. Is there anything that I can do to build up my credit score?

I also don’t have any utility bills to pay.
Over the period of a year make sure your bills (cable, electric, insurance ect) are paid on time or before time. Also, buying a car (cheaper the better) on a monthly or weekly payment plan helps within a year. Go to your local bank and speak to one of their investment people. I have Wachovia, and they helped us alot when we needed to clean up our credit due to medical expenses with our first child, plus they gave us a lot of options on how to build up our credit under 3yrs. They are the best to talk to. Good luck. Atleast you are attempting to do it the correct way by paying of your debts and school loans. That can speak volumes when you go and talk to an investment and credit specialist. They can help you go over your credit report with you and explain things and even help you clean it up if there are discrepensies.
