Question about student finance notification and income assessment loan?
I applied for finance online and also applied for the maintenance grant/income assessed load. They sent a form to my mother, which she had to fill out and return with other required documentation (P45, et cetera).
Now, two days later (today), I have received a letter explaining what I am entitled to. At the top of the letter, in bold, reads:
“Assessment status: Not financially assessed”
Underneath it reads £0.00 for my maintenance grant/income assessed loan.
There is also a letter that says the assessment status in final, although they will “change our decision if your circumstances change or we receive new information.”
The thing is, I go back to uni’ next week. Once they receive the P45 and other documentation, will I still receive my maintenance grant?
PS. I tried phoning them many times, only to be told to phone back later.
Thanks in advance…
Ooh my dase im in the same boat, but try to research the question to find answers but found none. When i applied online, it told me that im not entitled to a grant, even though i recieved it last year. Everything that you just said in your question is everything that is on my letter aswell.
But my mum hasnt sent of her evidence, so i as wondering if i will recieve more money if she does?? and is this the reason why im not reciveing my grant. I didnt send of evidence last year but i still recieved all of this. When i rang them it said there buy and to call back later…perfetic considering people are probably bombarding them with calls, so in this case i will prob. never get through to them.
My mum accidentially sent of the declaration letter without a stamp…will they accept it??
Anyways, to answer your question, if you recieved your grant last year then im pretty sure you will revcieve it again this year.
If its your first year, then maybe its something to do with online applications, because i didnt have this problem with the paper form. Your maintenance grant is based on your income so if your parents are earning for e.g. under 25k a year, then youll definatey recieve a grant, and you should be entitled to a bursary from your university aswell.
