Student Loan and Disability???
Hubby has been on disability for 20 years. (SSDI) I am reading conflicting reports about if he can get the loan discharged and we just got a new paper today in the mail saying he owes money on the loan. If Ohio child support is already taking out money (50% of his monthly check) then no one can take anymore, right? He has dependents, so they can’t take out more than 50%.
(He had this loan like 25 years ago when the loan was in his bank account and his ex left him and she took the money!)
If what i remember, there is only a cirten amount of money that can be taken out of an ssd check. I currently reseave ssi, and they can’t take more then 1 quarter of my income, but isnce i’m not maryed, then they can only take one quarter. Dont quote me, but i do think that there is a chance that since your his wife, and if your working, they can take more then 50%. might wanna call the social security office… or visit the website given below.
