Questions about immigrating to Canada,U.S. debt and social security?

I have a few questions about immigrating to Canada from the U.S. The first is can your wages in Canada be garnished by the U.S. government to pay back old federal student loans? The second is what happens when a person(she still works, not retired) who receives social security in the U.S. immigrates,do they collect the benefits from Canada or the U.S.? And last,to which country would taxes be paid to?

The most important part of this question, which you didn’t mention is …………..

Are you going to be able to qualify, to be accepted, as a immigrant, to come to Canada. You have to apply, and get a minimum of 67 points out of a possible 100, to even be “considered ” to come here. It is not a automatic process.

Canada is looking for young people, who are fully able to work and contribute to our economy, for many years to come. Your formal education ( the more the better ) and your actual work experience, plus your past credit history and a clear criminal record are all taken into consideration, when you apply.

If you are granted permission to come to Canada, and that can take a few years to be completed, you will be expected to support yourself by working here. If you are working in Canada, you pay income taxes in Canada. The US Government also wants you to file an annual US tax return, wherever you live in the world. No exceptions.
