Student Loans (personal needs)?

hey all,
Im an under grad student studyin composite materials engineering, and wud like to buy stuff like laptop, an digi cams etc.
Do you know of any bank of websites, or anywhere i can get loans to buy these such that I have very flexible repaying options (such as time)

It sounds like you’re looking for a private student loan. They are provided by private lenders and are a little different than the federal student loans with which you are probably familiar.

Since they are from a private lender, the money from the loan is sent directly to you and may be sued for any educational need. Like buying a laptop, paying rent or buying books. Each lender has specific guidelines that vary but generally the payments are deferred until up to 6 months after you are out of school. They will require some type of positive credit and employment/income history or a co-signor that can provide this on your behalf. The co-signor can be any adult family member, mom and dad or even a brother, sister, uncle or aunt.

since they do have different guidelines for approval I typically recommend applying at a few different places. Chase Bank has a private student loan program that you can reach through http://www.usadegrees.com/chase/ also try Student Loan Advisors at http://www.StudentLoanAdvisors.com both have an online request/application form and can be submitted online anytime. Typically you’ll hear back from them either the same day or the next business day.
