Lawsuit settlement question?
Hi,
Today I was offered 25,000 for a settlement for a car accident i was in back in 04′. I have permanent back damange (herniated disc L5 S1). I received a a very nice settlement from my insurance company back in Dec. The lady who is responsible’s insurance company is the one who offered me the 25,000…. the policy limit is 100,000. Should I settle for this or go for more, I was hoping to get 50,000, after lawyer fees it would be about 30,000 which would be enough to pay my student loans after college.
What do you think?
Because i’m a 20 year old with permanent back damage and spend every day of my life in pain… i’m money hungry…ok..
Is this the first offer the insurance co. has made? If so, you may want to make a counter-offer and hope they come back with a higher offer. What does your lawyer advise?
