Financial Aid for doing an MBA in US?

What are the different kinds of financial aid available for an international student wanting to pursue an MBA in the US?

What about loans? Is it not possible for International students to avail loans from Sallie Mae, for example? I want to know if there are Education Loans available for international students without a US Citizen as a Co – Signer ?

One of the best ways for an international student to afford a MBA in the US is to be a graduate assistant (GA). Most larger departments will hire GA’s to do everything from research to teaching. It will provide you with a tuition waiver and a monthly stipend.

You will either need to pay or take out a loan for any other expenses. Several lenders will allow you to take out a private student loan as long as you have a credit worthy co-signer. I have worked with student loans for 14 years, and I am unaware of any reputable companies that don’t require a credit worthy co-signer.

I would talk with the university you are planning on attending about your challenges. If they have a significant international student presence on campus, they may have developed an institutional policy or program that might help you.
