I have 2 student loans- I took a semester off and am re-enrolling in Jan. will I be able to defer again?

I attended a college in the 2007-2008 school year (2 semesters) and used student loans and pell grant. I just had a baby in July so I didn’t go back in August, I took the semester off. I am re-enrolling to start school again in Jan.
I received a notice that the loan company is ready to have me start paying the loan back now that I’m not enrolled. Once I enroll again, will they defer the payments again?

Of course you can defer your payments again. All you have to do is go to your University’s Registrars office and ask them to fill out a “In-School deferment” form, and then they’ll send it to your lender. Just remember than you’ve probably already used (or some of it) your deferment time, so when you stop going to school you might have to start making payments right away.

Good luck next semester
