Who offers Private Student loans anymore?
I really needs a private student loan where the funds come directly to me, not the school! Last semester I went through PNC but they have now discontinued that program?!?! Any suggestions?
Sallie Mae is one of several lenders that still offer this type of loan product – the information that I’ve attached explains that the payment comes directly to the student, rather than to the school.
Like any other private educational loan, the Sallie Mae loans require good credit> On this particular program you can not borrow more than the higher of $40,000 or the demonstrated “cost of attendance” at your school. You must be able to provide documentation to show that you are registered at least half-time at an eligible educational program.
I’m not shilling this particular program, only offering it as an example of the continued availability of this type of student lending.
