Do the government clear student loans for certain jobs in the UK?
Ok so i am in the situation where i can pay some of my loan back with some of my final savings, however i am unemployed and therefore do not actually have to. Of course the student loan is RPI linked so there is no immediate rush to repay however for other reasons it is financially more sensible for me to clear it now than leave it.
The government are always mentioning covering your student loan if you go into certain professions (eg. physics school teaching, nursing etc). I do not want to clear it and then find that i end up in one of these professions.
Does anybody know if they actually do (and if so the actual professions)?
Thanks
….Ohhh the Mystical Brown the clown gets out his smoke and mirrors again……..” be amazed by my sh!te of hand”
They may “cover” it…ie delay it when you are in training ( during which time you wrack up further debt)….. but they will reclaim the higher amount as soon as.
So… conclusion …NO NO NO…unless you are gullible
Ooppps – there is one option… become a MP and claim it back on expenses… not forgetting to lob in a plasma TV, kitchen refit etc etc
