Private Student loan-money sent directly to me ASAP?
I am starting school this summer.actually in a week, online classes. I have have plenty of grants and am doing the federal loans to cover the cost of school, i am actually expecting a refund from that, in the amount of about 2000. My problem is: I need about 1000 dollars to get a computer and MS office, as one of my classes require MS office 2007. Where can I get a private student loan, with bad credit, and where the money is sent to ME not the school, cause if it gets sent to the school i wont get it until 3 weeks into class like the rest of it. I have a co-signer with excellent credit if needed…i just need to find the money ASAP
I would not do a private student loan for a computer. Private student loan interest rates are astronomical and put on a 20 to 30 year payment plan. You certainly don’t want to be paying off a 1000 computer for the next 30 years.
You will get a much better rate and have better luck going to Best Buy and financing a computer through them. Take your cosigner with you and see if they will finance it with you in both your names. Private student loans are evil and should be avoided at all costs. High rates, high fees (you only THINK you get 1,000 when you apply for a loan for 1,000) you actually get less because of all the fees. If you die or become disabled your cosigner will still have to pay that loan.
