I have just had to leave my p/t job. What financial help can I get for my last few months of university?

I have about 3 months left until I graduate on my course at university. I have just had to leave my 16 hour a week part time job as I am simply not producing enough coursework to complete my course and find my part time job very distracting. I have even been recommended to do this by my own tutors.

However, the job was well paid and I had recently received bonus payments and a pay-rise, so I’m clearly going to be much less well off over the next few months.

I was wondering what sort of financial assistance I can get in terms of grants, loans, etc as a result of having to leave my part time job and focus on my last few months of study. I know there is a ‘financial contingency fund’ available, but a friend of mine applied for this a while back and is still yet to hear back from them.

Just to let you know, I’m in Wales so I don’t know if there are differences from Wales to England to Scotland to NI etc.

Thanks!

That’s annoying, i’m afraid you may have to get a loan form a bank, or maybe a student bank if any, becasue i think it may be to late to apply for maitenance grant. i think.

Perhaps you can ask a personal advisor in your University, i’m sure you must have one ask the liabry or your tutor
