Financial aid…fafsa work study and loans.?
When I filled out my fafsa I checked that I would like to recieve both work study and loans for this year.
I checked my financial aid on my school website and only the loans are showing up. Last year I was awarded money for work study. But for this term for the upcoming fall 2008 semester of college i didn’t recieve it. I just have offers for loans.
Should I have just checked work study on my fafsa???
Work study is pretty simple to add to your financial aid package. Don’t worry. Even if you are not eligible, most schools still have some type of work study that is offered to students. You just have to speak with an advisor and ask how to be qualified. Send your fin aid office an email and say that you would like to be qualified for work study. Make sure you put your full name, student number, date. etc. Then there is no confusion and such. The only problem is that work study might reduce your loans. It depends on your EFC and what types of aid you get..
