Canadian tax on income after moving to the UK?

I just wonder from this July I'm moving over with my husband in the United Kingdom with a spouse visa. I just contact the International Tax Services Revenue Canada who told me that when I leave Canada, I have to file tax returns Moreover, despite the student loan and a Canadian bank account and bills to be paid. I am considered a non-resident for tax purposes because I pay taxes in the United Kingdom. Anyone have any info on that?

The question of whether you are a Canadian resident for tax purposes or not is often unclear. If you have given International Tax Services people your information and have concluded that you have severed your residential ties with Canada, then I would very probably their conclusion. In the year you leave Canada, you will always have to file a Canadian, and you declare your worldwide income and deductions for the period of time before your departure. You'll still have to pay Canadian tax on Canadian source income you receive after have left, but will probably be able to claim any Canadian tax paid as a credit against your tax in the United Kingdom.
