What happens if you leave the country without having to pay student loans?

I live in New York what will happen if I work for say 1 year, then go to another country? do I still have to pay the other country?

Nope … but the interest charges and collection continue to run … if you do not pay so long, even after default … lender send your loans to the Ministry of Ed …. just never return United States ….
